This web site is dedicated, with love, to the memory of Virginia Brown Wells, 1920-2002

Carol Hyne-Wells
Wonderful wife to Phil and Mom to Kat. She's involved in Library and Research work at Qualcomm and earned a Masters in Library Science. She loves facts and lore of the British Isles and can list all the monarchs of England from William The Conqueror to present. She's been taking landscape design and horticulture classes at Cuyamac College and is become the go-to-girl for all things Gravilliea (you should see the size of her ever-expanding gravillea notebook). Until January 1996, she had spent all her life in Inglewood, CA which was very advantageous for airplane watchers like her and Phil since it's right under the LAX flight path. A Dr. Who afficionado, her kid has watched episodes since she was a tyke. The girls had to explain to Phil what a TARDIS is and why there is more than one Doctor.
Kat Rocha
Carol's daughter and family art and modern media aficionado. She likes reading, writing, working on digitally produced comic books and art with husband (5/21/05) Josh Finney, & off-the-wall comedy. She does the drawings which Josh digitizes and works into their own brand of art (see http://www.glitchwerk.com). We are expecting out 4th grandchild, the 1st entry of the Titanium Rain series, just in time for ComicCon. Carol and I are proud to say that her "day job" involves helping people whoae identities have been stolen.
Phil Wells
Fortunate to have finally found the love of his life after 42 years, he persuaded her and Kat to move from LA to share his San Diego home. Subsequently, all 3 were blessed by the Estate (and eternal love) of his Mom, Ginny Wells, which enabled all 3 to move to the house that Phil & Carol had been dreaming of for a decade.

He has his Microsoft Systems Engineer Certification, works in computers, networks, and telecommunications (including computer phone systems and wireless ethernet) and obtained his Senior Broadcast Engineer certification in his days as a radio broadcast engineer. He likes playing his guitar, voice acting and photography and, as you can see, is having a ball with his Sony Cybershot DSC-F828 digital camera. In Novemeber 2006, he passed all 3 US Amateur Radio exams and became Technician Class KI6GJE. The following February, the FCC removed the code requirements for the higher class licenses, so he instantly became Extra Class AF6AV and has been having too much fun with the mobile ham radio (Yaesu FT-857D) that Carol gave him at Christmas for his car (only a nut drives around with static blaring while monitoring 50.125mc, the 6 meter calling frequency during the Spring/Summer 2008 openings). Hailing from Syracuse NY and New Jersey, he'll never go back but does miss the thunderstorms. He may have been a Bear in a past life.
Jerry & Talon (The Catlet)
Talon, Kat's kitty who came with "the package" when Phil and Carol married in 1997, has adopted Phil as her human, and Phil's easy chair, as hers. With the passing of Carol's old cat-friend, Binky, at 23 years of age, we adopted Jerry The Cat from the Cat Protection Society. He makes Talon look extroverted. Jerry has adopted Carol and thinks everyone else has his worst interests in mind.

We'd like to send a special welcome to old friends from Syracuse and Inglewood, and to Phil's newfound Wells-tree relatives:

and to Phil's Firestine-descended relatives, some of whom he hasn't seen in 40 years but is now catching up with (better late than never)

And also, we mourn the loss of Alfred Emerson Luetchford of Fredericton, New Brunswick, in May of 2005, and George Carlin in 2008

We use Macromedia DreamWeaver MX Mac to maintain this site. We also use Fireworks to optimize JPEGs & GIFs, Canvas 9.0 for graphics and font modifications, and Thorsten Lemke's excellent GraphicConverter 6 (sorry Bill-Borgs, Mac only) as our graphics Swiss Army knife--it's a great way to suck the contents off of our Sony Cybershot DSC-F828 digital camera (via USB), and prep them for use.
