Carol's & Phil's
New Home
Even since Phil moved to the Scripps Ranch section of San Diego in 1992, he's coveted this 1983 home with wood siding in the front. It has a deck off the master suite. Most importantly, it doesnt look like most other So. Cal homes: Spanish or Mediterranean styles, all stucco, stupid little shutters that dont really work, and, ESPECIALLY, turrets and squinty windows. Carol has been enamored of it too since SHE moved into the area in 1997.We've always referred to it as "our house".
We'd been looking for houses lately, but nothing excited us in the price range we could handle. We even visited "Our House" when it went on the market 9 monhts back. We laughed at the asking price and left.
In late March 2002, Phil's Mom, Ginny Wells, passed away rather suddenly. She left Phil enough money to help make this 10 year dream come true. She is honored with her picture (with my Dad) in the foyer since this is her house as much as it's ours . We moved in May 20, 2002 (Phil's birthday... "Thanks for this loving present, Mom" )
